L rods are light metal rods bent into an “L” shape.
You can buy a brass or copper rod at hardware stores for under a dollar. Cut it in half and bend.
Or, cut up wire clothe hangers. You can even use clothe hangers as they are. They won’t be as sensitive, but they will work.
Hold the shorter side of the L rods in your hands, about 40 cm apart. Hold them loosely enough so that they can turn about freely. Have the longer side horizontal, pointing away from you. And have the two rods parallel to each other.
If you use clothe hangers, hold the longer side vertical, as in the picture here.
Underground water
My first experience with L rods, or rather, with clothe hangers, was in 1991, when I met Fr John Mary Chin (picture), a Catholic priest who is also a water diviner someone who locates underground water.
He was on his way to Africa, to help some nuns there find a suitable spot to dig a well. His demonstration of water divining was simple yet amazing. Since he did not have L rods with him, he held the clothe hangers in his hands, pointing outwards.
Magically, they turned and pointed in the same direction. Fr John faced that direction, and walked slowly forward. Soon, the clothe hangers automatically turned again, and faced inwards.“There is water underneath”, he declared.
He asked for a third clothe hanger to be placed on the spot, near his feet. The hangers opened up again. The triangular shape of the third clothe hanger neutralized the energy of the underground water currents, Fr John explained.
So Fr John sleeps with clothe hangers under his bed, just to be safe.
Safe from what? From aches, pains and more serious aliments like cancer.
A landmark study on this subject was by Baron Gustav Freiherr von Pohl, reported in his 1932 book, Earth Currents: Causative factor of cancer and other diseases.
Von Pohl mapped out water currents in Vilsburg, Germany and checked it against the records of 54 people who haad recently died of cancer. All 54 slept over intersecting underground streams.
Unscientific? Fr John knows from personal experience that there is some truth in it.
Once, a group of nuns told him about chronic aches and pains. He checked the positions of their beds for underground currents, asked them to shift, and their aches and pains went away.
How did he learn to do this?
I saw someone else do it. He gave it (L-rods) to me try and I realized that I could do it as well. It was a five minute lesson. I tried. And it worked.
I will never forget the thrill I felt when I discovered that I, too, can do water divining.
So can you. All of us are at least somewhat sensitive to the subtle energy of underground water.
There is another application of L-rods / clothe hangers.
I learned this about a year ago, when children’s shoes with lighted soles were getting popular until they were stopped when someone noted that the batteries inside the soles posed a pollution hazard.
Those who understand energy will realize that the batteries are a health hazard too. We were discussing this when my friend, Tay, said the effect could be shown.
Again using clothe hangers as L-rods, Tay asked me to stand at the end of the room. He held a pair of clothe hangers and walked towards me.
When he was still some distance away, the hangers opened. He had reached the outer boundaries of my aura, Tay explained.
(This simple experiment is also discussed, with illustrations, in Dr Leonard Laskow’s book, Healing with Love.)
We repeated the experiment, with me holding a battery in my hand. Now, Tay had to come a lot closer before the clothe hangers opened outwards.
By simply holding a battery, my aura weakened.
