Macrobiotic home remedies for cancer
T
This article forms part of a series based on macrobiotic lectures that Herman Aihara gave in Singapore in 1995. Following that, I published an entire issue of The Good Life, summarising his key teachings in Singapore. Herman Aihara passed away on 25 February 1998 and Cornelia Aihara passed away exactly eight years later, on 25 February 2006.
It takes a while to starve off cancer cells. To speed up recovery, Herman Aihara recommends drawing out toxins and tomours using a taro potato plaster.
For best results, a ginger compress is applied first. This gathers blood and cancer cells at the site so that the taro potato plaster can draw out more toxins. (Important Note: Ginger compress, on its own, is usually not recommended for people with cancer. But when followed by a taro potato plaster, it is considered ok.)
’Hopeless‘ Herman cites the case of a man whose cancer was so advanced that doctors pronounced him “hopeless”. He continuously applied the taro potato plaster, changing it every four hours, for three and a half months. He also followed a macrobiotic diet and continued with it for a year. When his doctors examined him, they were surprised. They declared him “95 percent cured”. It certainly requires a lot of patience to apply a taro potato plaster (and other remedies for cancer) for over three months. It also requires considerable courage. And faith. Because the condition often appears to worsen after a few days. The skin breaks out in boils and there would be pus and other smelly liquids oozing out. Some people develop large, gaping wounds up to 10cm across. “It can be very messy”, Herman Aihara cautions. There is also a risk of infection when the skin breaks. To prevent this, apply a mixture of sesame oil and salt over the wound and the taro plaster over it. Herman has seen cases of breast cancer where, after three months, the entire tomour came out. Below are instructions for various remedies for cancer:
Important: For cancer patients, a ginger compress must be followed with a taro potato plaster. Do it once a day, followed by several applications of the taro potato plaster. Those without cancer can apply the ginger compress alone, over any organ that is weak. This home remedy is particularly helpful for people with weak kidneys, including those on the verge of kidney failure. Some people have managed to avoid dialysis by applying ginger compress as part of a macrobiotic recovery program.
If taro potato makes you itch, add a pinch of salt. Green vegetables may be substituted for taro potato.
Buckwheat plaster Cancer patients sometimes develop water retention and this is one of the remedies for cancer that can be helpful here. A few applications are usually enough.
and other illnesses There are a number of books on macrobiotic home remedies, including remedies for cancer. These include:
